We want you to know that our church is a welcoming and affirming church to all people. It is hoped that you will give us a call or come by to experience and know that welcoming presence first-hand.

I am a recent arrival at Christ United Methodist Church and can testify to the hospitable nature of our congregation. My family and I moved to Lincoln from a fourteen year pastorate in Hastings, Nebraska, and were immediately made to feel at home in this new setting.

Christ United Methodist Church has a full range of ministries and activities including children, youth, adults, missions, music, and small groups. We are pleased that our Family Life Center and facilities are also able to accommodate events and ministries beyond our own.

Within our worship services, we try to reach peoples lives in today's living. We cordially invite you to experience what happens at Christ United Methodist Church as the family of God and God's people gather to worship and serve in our community and beyond.

OFFICE ADMINISTRATOR - Amanda Kenney

Amanda is the coordinator of all aspects of the church office. Her duties include maintaining the church calendar, answering phone calls, coordinating volunteers, updating the website, and handeling all church mailings. Amanda provides staff support for the Circle of Care Ministry, the Parish Health Ministry and the Retired Pastors Outreach, as well as the Van Ministry, New Member Cooordination, Prayer Shawl Ministry and the Hospitality Team. She also manages the Church finances, including bill paying and church payroll.

Amanda grew up in Seward, NE and has a degree in Music Education and Piano Performance from Hastings College. She and her husband Chris have two young children, Nicole and Samuel. Amanda and Chris joined Christ Church in August 2008 after moving from Hastings to Lincoln in July.

BUILDING SUPERINTENDENT - Randy Cary.


Randy is responsible for care and upkeep of all church property. He also is in charge of setting up facilities for all groups who use the building.
He is married to Betty, father of two grown children, and grandfather of five.




ORGANIST/PIANIST/BELL CHOIR DIRECTOR - Jane Plettner-Nielson.

Jane has been a church musician for many years, most recently at Trinity United Methodist Church. She has served as choir director, bell choir director and organist for many different churches.

Her degrees are in music, having received a Bachelor of Music degree in Music Education from Hastings College and a Master of Music degree in Organ Performance from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.

Her full-time job is with the Legislature, working in the Revisor of Statutes/Bill Drafting office.

DIRECTOR OF CHRIST ACADEMY PRESCOOL - Cindy Laughter



Cindy is the director of Christ Academpy preschool and Parent's Day Out childcare. This program is available 7:30AM - 5:00PM, Monday through Friday. Christ Academy is licensed through the State of Nebraska, and operates as a drop-off childcare with no minimum hours required.
